Experience with bacteria or immunology is not required. The Pires Lab is associated with the University of Virginia Graduate Program in Chemistry. Please apply directly to the Ph.D. program. If you have general questions on what to expect and the life of a graduate student in our lab please feel free to reach out.
We are excited to host undergraduates researchers in our laboratory. To apply for a position as an undergraduate research assistant, submit a current CV (including relevant courses you have taken) and a 1-2 paragraph statement about why you want to work in our lab. We are most interested in motivated students that can commit at least two full years to research. Securing internal funding is an excellent way to show your commitment to research.
